My name is Maria Anderson I am a proud Pitjantjara Women. I have a big family and we love having time outs camping, yarning around the fire, fishing, walking and basically just spending time with each other. I have lived and worked Port Augusta for 27 years before relocating to Adelaide to work with The Salvation Army as The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Engagement Coordinator SA/NT Working within TSA has been a learning experience for myself getting to know the organisation and the work that it does. I am really enjoying my time and love meeting and working with new colleagues and learning about the different departments within the TSA. I am blessed to be apart of an amazing team and together we bring our experiences and knowledge that we to can share with others.
I enjoy my role as if it means that I can help other on their journey in gaining a little understanding of how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People carry out their cultural practices and to ensure that if they are working with Aboriginal Communities that they gain a better understanding of working together.
