Cristy is a reflective, strength based Social Worker with strong values of Social Justice and a passion for advancing women’s safety and their right to self-determination. A respected leader in the non-profit sector, with 10 years’ experience working with homelessness services in South Australia. Her focus areas have been with youth and most recently, working with women experiencing homelessness. Cristy believes that all people have the right to safe, affordable and appropriate housing no matter what their background or circumstances. In her role as Team Leader of the bail accommodation program at Catherine House, she values the partnership with the Department of Corrections, where all efforts are on reviewing systems and processes to improve the transition of women back into community in a way that promotes their dignity and offers them the best opportunity to be well set up for more positive life and future.
