The Salvation Army
IAP Worker, The Salvation Army
I am a proud Djabwurrung woman working and living on Wurundjeri country.
I am an IAP worker at Salvation Army Western Metro who holds a specialised role supporting First Nation’s community members in accessing culturally safe homelessness support.
I have previously worked a traineeship with Kirrip. I am guided in my work by the community leaders and elders I had the honour of working with during this time. While in this role I completed by Diploma of Community Services. I believe that my formal education paired with the guidance of leaders around me has helped shape me into a service provider committed to providing trauma-informed and person-centred care.
I have lived experience of growing up on (and at times below) the poverty line and have developed my professional skills in the context of a personal understanding and empathy held for the people we work with.
