Alan is a passionate Advocate for Homelessness and Mental Health and currently works for The Salvation Army in their Inner City HomelessnessTeam as a Lived Experience Peer. He contributes to Advocacy through The Public Interest Advocacy Centre on the Homeless and Mental Health Agreement 2022 Lived Experience Advisory Committee.This group is an important part of the collaboration between NSW Health and DCJ so people who live with mental illness have timely access to safe, secure, appropriate housing. Alan also is the founder of a charity to support people with suicidality, mental distress and loneliness which operates a drop in safe space in the Inner West of Sydney.
