Bams is a transgender woman from Thailand who has experienced domestic violence and is currently residing in a women’s refuge. She holds a temporary visa and is awaiting a decision about her case from the Minister of Immigration. Bams is a fearless advocate for non-resident people who have experienced domestic violence and homelessness. She has bravely used her voice and experience to advocate to government, the public and the media, for humanity and systemic change. Bams is also secretariat of the ‘Non-Resident Lived Experience Advocacy Group’ and a member of the ‘A Right to Home’ campaign. She has recently featured in a documentary called ‘A Right to Home’ about the issues and experiences non-resident people face, which premiered at the NSW Parliament.Live
