Dr Michael Fotheringham

Dr Michael Fotheringham, Managing Director, AHURI

Dr Michael Fotheringham has held leadership roles at AHURI since 2014. As Managing Director, he is responsible for setting Australia’s national housing research agenda and curating an internationally lauded policy research evidence base on housing, homelessness and urban issues. 

Michael currently serves on a variety of expert advisory panels including the Urban Policy Forum, the Housing Supply Expert Panel, the Ministerial Homelessness Reform Advisory Group, and the ANZSOG Research Council. He is a national council member of National Shelter, and a former director of Homelessness Australia. 

Michael is sought for evidence-informed advice by Ministers and senior policy makers in Australia and internationally. He is an in-demand media spokesperson, conference speaker, and event facilitator.
